Dr. Goodkin's professional and personal passion to help patients and their loved ones minimize the burden of navigating the healthcare system when they are faced with more important aspects of achieving the highest level of health possible is what sparked SimpatiCare, LLC.


Dr. Goodkin received her medical education at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY.  She completed her General Surgery Internship at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia and remained there for further training in Urologic Surgery.  Dr. Goodkin received additional training in Diagnostic Radiology at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY.  Prior to her medical training, Dr. Goodkin received a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in All Subjects from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences with a degree in Biology and concentration in Neurobiology and Behavior.  Dr. Goodkin has also participated in clinical research in the fields of Psychiatry and Neonatology.

Dr. Goodkin has been working to support patients and their families, and interacting with varied members of medical teams since she began working as a Dialysis Technician as a teenager.  After completing her undergraduate studies, Dr. Goodkin worked in the Institutional Review Board and Grants and Contracts Office at the Mount Sinai Hospital, where she participated in the monitoring and reviewing of biomedical and behavioral human research, protecting human subjects from harm, as well as assisted in the administrative oversight of the application and award process for faculty pursuing research activities.

Just prior to commencing her formal medical education, Dr. Goodkin continued her quest to aid patients and their families when she served as a Research Coordinator in the Department of Psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked closely with malignant melanoma patients and breast cancer patients.

Outside of her patient care responsibilities, Dr. Goodkin has also had extensive personal experience with close family members and friends who have faced multiple forms of cancer and neurological disease.  She has been intimately involved in navigating the healthcare system in these varied circumstances, assisting with physician selection, understanding diagnoses, discerning treatment options, attending medical appointments, and providing emotional support.  This, combined with her experience as a mother and physician, has placed Dr. Goodkin in a unique position to advocate for patients, their families, and their loved ones.  Dr. Goodkin understands all aspects of the healthcare system and she provides a valuable wealth of knowledge, resources, experience, and compassion, all of which are necessary to navigate effectively in the current healthcare environment.
